Anne-Mari Kivimäki's international Muistellen exhibition can be experienced as part of Teatterikesä's OFF program from August 5 to August 9, 2026 in Taidekeskus Mältinrannan project room. The exhibition was put together for the Oulu Capital of Culture year and was on display at the Valve gallery in May-June 2026. You can also meet artists and participate in old-time record dances. The record store is open during event times!

Composer, musician Anne-Mari Kivimäki's exhibition is based on three years of research and collection work, during which she has collected material and interviewed people in the Oulu2026 area and collaborated with international artists. The audiovisual exhibition features works created on the basis of material collected by Kivimäki, which bring out the memories of the war and the situation in the world today. Leena Vainio's wonderful ceramic soul bird works complement the exhibition, bringing out the rich Karelian culture.

Anne-Mari Kivimäki, doctor of music, has been mentioned as one of the most interesting folk music creators of the moment. Kivimäki performs solo and tours with Suistamo Sähkö both in Finland and abroad. He won the Artist of the Year Award at the Etnogala 2017 and his albums have garnered rave reviews as well as awards and nominations both in Finland and internationally. The Federation of Karelia gave him the Elmi Tsokkinen medal in 2025 in recognition of his work for the Karelian cultural heritage.
