LIKA

Teatteri Telakka

Telakka Theatre’s spring 2025 premiere explores the dimensions of cleanliness and dirt in our environment and in people. LIKA is a multi-sensory journey into the depth of our minds, consisting of psychological suspense and horror tinged with absurd humour.

Before anything else was dirt. Only as people entered the picture did dirt become the multifaceted concept we know it as, evoking disgust, horror or interest in people. The performance brings forward the many faces of dirt, exploring its roles and effects both in our environment and in people. It explores the diversity of dirt and how to live with it.
We all shed sweat, hair, dander, dandruff and hair.

LIKA is for everyone who has ever touched dirt or pooped. It’s for everyone who has thought about how much dirt they have touched or breathed during their lifetime. Above all, it is for everyone who sees dirt as more than a black and white concept. The performance asks us to redefine and examine our relationships to uncleanliness and dirt – after all, dirt is everywhere.
