Jump Rhythm® Live!
Jordan Batta, Billy Siegenfeld & Jump Rhythm® Trio
The Liikelaituri stage will feature three works by Emmy® Award-winning artist Billy Siegenfeld. The performances are full of rhythm, comedy, dance and drama. The stage will feature the play FORTITUDE and GENTLENESS as well as excerpts of Siegenfeld’s dance works “No Way Out” and “The Sumptuous Screech of Simplicity”. The performances are based on the Standing Down Straight® method and the Jump Rhythm® technique, a vocally accompanied rhythm-driven approach to singing and dancing.
FORTITUDE and GENTLENESS is a play about a rehearsal for a play about two people, who have known each other for years as actors, finally begin to know each other as people. This unique play with music and dance incorporates everything from terror to tap dance to titillating tango. It encompasses a relationship that comes together, falls apart, and leaves us wondering what will happen next.
Alongside the play, Peter Hammer, Saana Kulmala and Mariikka Santaharju will perform excerpts from two different pieces of Siegenfeld’s choreography: “No Way Out” and “The Sumptuous Screech of Simplicity.” With speed, energy and precise rhythmic play, Siegenfeld’s unique technique and style combines movement and expression to surprise, entertain and touch audiences’ hearts.
In collaboration with the Pirkanmaan Tanssin Keskus.
