Harmony Sisters – with the power of song to the world!

Harmony Sisters is a fast-paced musical about the singing Valtonen sisters, who rose to stardom in the 1930s.
Vera, Maire and Raija Valtonen grew up in Kotka with their mother and grandmother, in a household of five women – full of hunger for love and longing for acceptance.

The exceptionally talented singing trio was soon absorbed into the entertainment machine. At one time, the sisters, who were very good at languages, conquered audiences first on the home front and later on tours of Nazi Germany, representing everything that the era idealized at that time: purity, beauty and a divine voice.

Singing brought a living, but also required great sacrifices. Post-war Finland did not look favorably on their adventures in Germany, and their new career in Sweden was not without problems. Youth during the war was wild and free, but it led to unhappy relationships. The men fell in love with the Harmony Sisters, but were disappointed with the Valtonen sisters. The song also tied the sisters together too tightly, leaving no room for their own lives.

Harmony Sisters is a story about love, longing, sisterhood and the power of music.
