Unpredictable outcome – Excerpt from the series Summer of Red Flowers

Sleeves and a heart flutter as Cupid's arrow, flying from the distant past, still quivers old love and strikes surprisingly deeply. The actor gets to feel, show and hide everything that can be contained in love, and that includes at least a strangely sewn button, a staircase-like passage, red shoelaces, work, sweat and a sacrificial altar. Lightly and painfully, love is pounded, gutted and chopped. The monologue inevitably sinks deep to the point where one has to stop and take a breath, to lie on the shore like a shipwreck. What remains?

Unpredictable outcome – Excerpt from the series Summer of Red Flowers is a monologue performed by actress Elina Lajunen, who graduated with a Master’s degree in Theatre Arts from Tampere University in May 2026. The text was written by playwright and dramaturg Taija Helminen. The monologue premiered at Tampere University on May 19, 2026. It will be performed three times in the OFF program of the Tampere Theatre Festival.
