Noise
Teatteri Takomo
By Samuli Niittymäki & Tatu Nenonen
A virtuosic and delicate piece about the mystery of life, reaching out to the invisible.
Mattio has written lyrics to a song composed by Bernando. Bernando thinks the song is incredibly beautiful, but he wants to make sure Mattio agrees to a slight change in the words. Will he get an answer?
Blending uncompromising and finely detailed acting with sonic fireworks that dig deep into the source of things, Noise is the third collaboration between actor Samuli Niittymäki and this year’s Säde Awarded sound designer Tatu Nenonen. It explores the essence of time, stretching its limits, making us feel what it’s like to be human, to wait and wonder. It’s an experience that moves your heart and makes you smile.
The duo’s prior productions Amor Fati (2017) and Plup plup (2021, directed by Niittymäki) have also been presented at Tampere Theatre Festival.
”The enigmatic and expressive Noise creates captivating and powerful images – following in Samuel Beckett’s footsteps, Samuli Niittymäki and Tatu Nenonen present an inimitably elegant and absurd world.”
Matti Saarela, Kielipuolen päiväkirja blog
”Masterly and deliciously takes you to another place.”
