Forget me

Svenska Teatern

Written and directed by Milja Sarkola

A reality-based drama about Gunnel who lives alone and wants to be forgotten after her death.

Gunnel, a retiring EU administrator, is an untypical person: she is unsentimental, isn’t in a relationship, and doesn’t have children. Her life choices raise questions and eyebrows in everyone she meets.

What sorts of ideals and values are others projecting onto her – either consciously or subconsciously? What would the world look like if more people were like Gunnel?

Showcasing Milja Sarkola’s trademark humor and a phenomenal ensemble, Forget Me makes an observant point about the norms of our individual-obsessed time. Anna Hultin, delictably wonderful in her reactions as Gunnel, is the magnetic centerpiece of the production.

”This is exactly how I want to experience theatre: brave, compassionate, verbally rich, and shaped in a fashion that dares to call things out while it also moves you.”
