OFF TAMPERE
OFF Tampere is the official fringe programme of Tampere Theatre Festival which is made up of a wide variety of shows and performances during August 4th–10th. This year the programme includes 35 different productions including circus acts, dance performances, improvisation, music, comedy and drama, in both traditional theatre format and in virtual 3D format.
Experience art up close: step into the ambient caravan theatre of Teatteri Qo on Kuninkaankatu, or experience the fantastic circus artists of Circus Ruska and Arctic Ensemble in the circus tent in Pyynikintori. Theatre La Strada invites the audience to join them on a trip down memory lane through their 16 years of performance history by performing the audiences’ favorite scenes from past shows.
The children will also get their share of theatre magic: Children’s Cultural Centre Rulla is putting on a beautiful puppet show Wonders and Odds in celebration of their 20th anniversary.
The programme also includes some visiting groups from Helsinki – Tämän Päivän Teatteri and Helsinki 98.
OFF also offers a variety of shows from local professional theatres and amateur groups. For example, Melkein ihmisiä by Tukkateatteri takes the audience back to 1935, to experience what working life in Tampere looked like. The experience takes place within the charming milieu of Amuri’s Museum of Historic Housing.
