Cancellation of Tampere Theatre Festival 2020

Due to the situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the board of directors has been obliged to take decision on the cancellation of this year’s festival. The next edition of the Tampere Theatre Festival is scheduled for 2 – 8 August 2021.
”Decision on cancellation was very hard, but it was the only feasible option for our festival during the current circumstances. The emphasis has to be on the health and safety of all involved”, states Hanna Rosendahl, the executive director of the Tampere Theatre Festival. ”We wish strength for all to carry on during these challenging times, and trust that we can get together soon, also for our theatre festival next year.”
The international programme planned for this year will be rescheduled for 2021. The aim is to reschedule the performances of the Programme Tent as well. Unfortunately the Finnish performances of the Main Programme cannot be moved as such to next year, and thus we publish the domestic list to celebrate their makers.
