Japanese tea ceremony
The way of tea, or chado (茶道), is a centuries-old art form developed around the preparation of green matcha tea. It is generally known somewhat misleadingly as Japanese tea ceremony. In addition to a refreshing bowl of tea, chado offers a unique opportunity to get to know traditional Japanese culture from a slightly different angle.
Members of Chado Urasenke Tankokai Finland Association’s Tampere study group will hold demonstrations of the art form in Sorsapuisto, Sorsalampi pier area between 18:00-19:30. One demonstration takes about 20 minutes.
Demonstrations are free and suitable for all ages. Warmly welcome. However, due to the event's outdoor location, the demonstrations are subject to weather conditions. Rain or heavy wind may cause the demos to be cancelled.
