Welcome to the sandbox! Or rather, the stage! In this performance, dancers turn the everyday life into the extraordinary as energetic dance takes over the playground and boxes spin through the air. Laatikon ulkopuolelta performance invites the young audience to dance by the rules and within boundaries. There's competition and obedience — until there isn't! What happens when dancers start bending those rigid commands? Which rules are not worth keeping, and who gets to decide?

Laatikon ulkopuolelta playfully brings children’s experiences of will, limits, and rule-breaking to the forefront. This participatory piece, aimed at preschool-aged children, offers an accessible introduction to dance as an art form and sparks thoughts about fairness. When do rules help us? When do they hold us back? The work encourages independent thinking and reminds us it's okay to act differently than others when needed.

The future needs bold and fair visionaries who dare to think outside the box!
