Amuri Museum of Historic Housing & Touring Cinema Filmipyörä

The night of Nocturnal Happening will include guided tours of the Museum and its fascinating stories, culminating in the Hamsterit movie at 22.00. The outdoor screening and guided tours are available for the price of a museum admission ticket.

Klaus Klemola gives a filmmaker's perspective on the film Hamsterit.

Klo 22 Hamsterit movie
The film Hamsterit, directed by Markku Pölönen and based on the novel by Veikko Huovinen, will be screened outdoors in the courtyard of the Amuri Museum. The screening is included in the ticket price of museum entrance, duration 113 min. You can bring your own picnic chair, there is seating for about 40 people. Please dress for the weather.

Guided tours


At 18 Block tour
The most popular of the tours gives you a comprehensive picture of Amuri life and living from the 1880s to the 1970s. The tour also includes a visit to a 1930s bakery, a visit to a cooperative shop and a visit to a communal sauna.

At 20 Curtains flying - themed tour
The guided tour will tell you about the life of the residents of Amuri, which has included the hardships of the Civil War, the evasion of Prohibition and the colourful history of their names. You'll also learn about the colourful personalities of Amuri. They kept up with their neighbours' affairs, and the story goes that in Amuri the curtains were always flying. Duration about an hour.

At 18.30, 19.30 & 20.30 introduction to Amuri
Discover the Amuri Museum Of Historic Housing in 15 minutes. After the introduction, it is easy to go on your own to discover the museum's inhabitants and their homes. Duration of the introduction 5-15 min.
