A Japanese Tea Ceremony
Finland’s Chado Urasenke Tankokai association Tampere’s study group
The Way of Tea, or chadō (茶道), is a centuries-old art form developed around the preparation of green matcha tea. It is generally known somewhat misleadingly as a Japanese tea ceremony. In addition to a refreshing bowl of tea, tea art offers a unique opportunity to get to know traditional Japanese culture from a slightly different angle.
Members of the Finland’s Chado Urasenke Tankokai association’s Tampere’s study group holds demonstrations of the art form in Liisanpuisto, tier area between 18:00-19:30. One demonstration takes about 20 minutes.
Demonstrations are free and suitable for all ages. Warmly welcome. However, due to the outdoor space, the demonstrations are subject to weather conditions. Rain or heavy wind can cause the demos to be cancelled.
