Irish theatre is going through a profound shift. The Brokentalkers stands in the frontline of groups that boldly challenge the limits of theatre, and is now bringing two performances to the Tampere Theatre Festival.

In Real Time explores broadband love and its unpredictable dimensions. The performance takes place simultaneously in two cities: an actor in Dublin is seeking contact with an actor in Tampere. The audience is invited to share the experience of long-distance love.

Yet, can it last? Mobile phone, e-mail, Skype, Twitter - they all provide real-time connection, but how to nurture that contact? What significance does the lack of physical presence really have?
